Surf’s up
Above, a surfer rides a breaker just south of the Grand Haven pier Saturday evening. Winds of 15 to 30 knots whipped the lake into 3 to 5 foot waves deterring boaters, but luring surfers with large whitecaps.
Below, large waves knock down two walkers on the south pier Saturday night. No one was injured in the incident. Winds will switch to the east on Tuesday with waves expected to be 1 to 3 feet. After a sunny day Tuesday, rain is in the forecast for Wednesday through Friday.
