Weekend Winds Bring
Big Waves and Damage

High winds blew in eight to ten foot waves here over the weekend and surfer Bill Pushaw is shown riding one of them above.  The wind also toppled a large limb from a Beech Tree onto a home owned by Paul Way, 216 Howard, below.  The limb, about five-feet in diameter and 70 feet long, put a hole in the roof and at least two support beams were broken.  It also destroyed a fence and demolished a free standing TV antenna.  (Tribune Photos)
